As if the pressure wasn’t already heavy on Straight Blast Gym’s Artem Lobov earlier today (Sat., Oct. 21, 2017) at UFC Fight Night 118 live on Fight Pass from inside Ergo Arena in Gdansk, Poland, when he took on Team Alpha Male staple Andre Fili, “Russian Hammer” had to deal with a screaming Conor McGregor cageside.
McGregor, who showed up to the event in fashion to support his SGB teammate, was trying his hardest to give Lobov tips during his preliminary bout with “Touchy.” Fili’s corner complained about McGregor pacing along the outside of the cage and screaming instructions over both corners, leaving referee Marc Goddard to pause the fight and issue a warning to the UFC lightweight champion to settle down.

Wow. Goddard stopped the fight to move McGregor back to his seat.

That was an intense one. Ref Marc Goddard had to tell McGregor to settle down in between rounds. Don’t see that often. In the end, nice win for Andre Fili. He beats Artem Lobov via UD.

Good call Marc

Remember, McGregor has a long history with TAM after capturing his first UFC title in 2015 with a TKO win over Chad Mendes. In addition, “Notorious” nearly came to blows with current UFC bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt when McGregor verbally blasted TAM on the set of The Ultimate Fighter.
In McGregor’s defense, he has done this sort of thing before. Back at UFC Fight Night 99 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, McGregor yelled instructions to Lobov from the crowd for his bout with Teruto Ishihara, yet another TAM member. After Lobov defeated Ishihara, McGregor quickly stepped inside of the Octagon to congratulate his teammate and raise his hand.
While McGregor may have crossed the line at UFC Fight Night 118 earlier today considering he was not part of Lobov’s official corner, his efforts fell on deaf ears. On the heels of precise combinations, slick body shots, and one monstrous head kick, Fili defeated Lobov via unanimous decision and silenced all the advice “Notorious” was feeding “Russian Hammer.”
