The combat action unfolds this weekend as Cage Fury FC 68 touches down tomorrow night (Sat., Oct. 21, 2017) from inside the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey. The event can be streamed right here.
While the 10-fight card is led by two title fights — Sean Brady vs. Mike Jones for the welterweight strap and Joseph Lowry vs. Richard Patishnock for the lightweight strap — the evening will also feature the return of rising Ohio prospect Jerrell Hodge.
Hodge, 27, has won his last three bouts after losing his professional debut back in 2014 via submission. Most fight fans are unfamiliar with the work of “Thundercat,” which is why CFFC put together a video compilation showcasing the bantamweight’s best career moments (shown above).
The video preview focuses on Hodge’s memorable third-round knockout finish over Cody Garbrandt in a 2012 amateur bout. It remains the only knockout loss of Garbrandt’s career and a victory that remains a massive feather in Hodge’s mixed martial arts (MMA) cap.
After Hodge laid waste to Garbrandt, “No Love” decided to go pro and racked off 11-straight victories en route to claiming the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) bantamweight title. He is widely considered one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world, especially after defeating former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz last year.
Hodge, despite his efforts against Garbrandt so many years ago, remained on the open MMA circuit in search of his big break. He will look to extend his current win streak to four when he takes on 26-year-old prospect Tony Gravely this weekend in Atlantic City.
