As I’m sure most of you are aware by now, some madman went berserk during a concert in Las Vegas, Nevada, and gunned down several hundred people last night on the Las Vegas strip after opening fire from the 32nd floor of the nearby Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.
As of this writing, 58 people are confirmed dead.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), headquartered in Las Vegas, is expected to host the UFC 216: “Ferguson vs. Lee” pay-per-view (PPV) event this Saturday night (Oct. 7, 2017) at the nearby T-Mobile Arena, but no word yet if this weekend’s tragedy will affect the timing of the show.
That information may come at a later date, but for now, the promotion is simply offering its condolences to the victims and their families.
“Our hearts are home in Las Vegas,” the statement read on UFC.com. “We are saddened by this senseless act of violence and offer heartfelt condolences to all those affected.”
There are really no words at a time like this. It just sucks, plain and simple.
If and when UFC decides to move UFC 216 or keep it right where it is, we’ll be sure to pass along that information just as soon as it becomes available.
