UFC Gdansk: Darren Till warns ‘old, fragile’ Cowboy Cerrone not to stand with him ... or he’ll die

Donald Cerrone has collected quite an impressive highlight reel throughout his mixed martial arts (MMA) career, making a name for himself for his striking prowess and countless knockout wins. According to Darren Till, however, if “Cowboy” opts to stick to his bread and butter when the two tango at this weekend’s (Sat., Oct. 21, 2017) UFC Fight Night 118 event in Gdansk, Poland, it could be detrimental to his health.

“Donald Cerrone is going to take me down — he’s coming to take me down. He’s too old and fragile to be standing with a guy like me,” Till told MMA Fighting.

To hear Till tell it, he’s simply too big, too young and too powerful for an aging Cerrone to pose any threats to him.

“C’mon, look at the f**kin’ size of me for f**k’s sake! I’m twice his size, how the f**k is he going to strike with me? He’s coming to take me down, that’s his game plan. I don’t fault him for that. He’s getting old and he’s twice my age. Do not stand with me, you will die,” said a confident “Gorilla.”

Despite being only 24 years of age to Donald’s 34, Till says he has been fighting much longer than his current record shows, as he sports a mint mark of (15-0-1, 3-0-1 UFC).

“Cerrone is the old generation and he’s fighting the new generation. He can say what he likes about him having more fights than me, but let’s get something straight – I’ve been fighting since I was 12 years old,” Till said.

The key to victory according to the confident scrapper is popping off first and not letting “Cowboy” get comfortable.

“I’m not going to let him have any breaks. When I hit him I’m going to follow it up and I’m going to hurt him – I want to hurt him. That’s what I want to do,” he said. “I want to put him in a world of pain, this is f**kin’ fighting here. After the fight, we can shake hands and have a beer and it’s all good fun, but when we’re in that cage it’s time for pain. It’s time to win and I’m going to win.”

Sure, Cerrone has seen better days, as the longtime veteran has now dropped two in a row after a red-hot start to his Welterweight campaign. That said, ”Cowboy” still has the tools to turn anybody’s lights off.

Anyone think Cerrone came turn it around in Gdnask, or will it a changing of the guard once the dust settles inside Ergo Arena?
