Just a few months removed from her savage, second-round knockout victory over Yajaira Romo in Mexico City (replay), undefeated women’s strawweight prospect Melissa Martinez returns to Combate Americas’ La Jaula to battle 115-pound grappling wizard Gloria Bravo, winner of three straight.
“This is a phenomenal addition to an already stellar and historic fight card created for the Telemundo broadcast television platform,” said Combate Americas CEO Campbell McLaren. “With the incredibly relentless and hard-hitting action we have seen from the women of Combate Americas, it is only fitting that we showcase a matchup between two of the sport’s brightest and fastest rising female stars.”
Martinez (2-0) and Bravo (4-2) will co-headline the upcoming Copa Combate mixed martial arts (MMA) extravaganza on Nov. 11 in Cancun, Mexico, part of a stacked Telemundo telecast that also features the promotion’s one-night, eight-man bantamweight elimination tournament worth $100,000.
