Bellator 185 “Mousasi vs. Shlemenko” heads to Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. on Oct. 20, 2017. The headline fight on Friday night is the Bellator MMA debut of Gegard Mousasi (42-6-2) as he takes on the challenge of veteran Bellator fighter Alexander “Storm” Shlemenko (56-9, 1 NC).
Uncasville was also set to be the site of an exciting Welterweight showdown between fan favorites “The Caveman” David Rickels (18-4, 2 NC) and “Irish Bad Boy” (14-6). The latter was looking to rebound off a Bellator 182 loss while Rickels looked to continue his winning ways after moving up to 170 at Bellator 171.
That fight will have to wait for another day though as Ward has withdrawn due to injury and the fight has been scratched with no suitable short notice replacement available for Rickels. In addition Javier Torres (10-3, 1 NC), the original opponent for Neiman Gracie (6-0) on the main card, is also out due to injury and has been replaced by Zak Bucia (18-8).
These changes have also bumped a new fight at 155 lbs. to the main card as Ryan Quinn (13-7-1) takes on Marcus Surin (4-0). The revised TV card for Friday night’s show looks like this.
Middleweight: Gegard Mousasi vs. Alexander Shlemenko
Welterweight: Neiman Gracie vs. Zak Bucia
Flyweight: Heather Hardy vs. Kristina Williams
Flyweight: Lisa Blaine vs. Ana Julaton
Lightweight: Ryan Quinn vs. Marcus Surin
