Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is bringing a pay-per-view (PPV) quality fight card to the FOX network, which I suppose makes sense since it usually brings FOX-quality fight cards to PPV, for the upcoming UFC on FOX 26 mixed martial arts (MMA) event, taking place on Sat., Dec. 16, 2017, inside Bell MTS Place in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.
Former featherweight champion Jose Aldo (26-3) will return to action following last June’s technical knockout loss to Max Holloway (18-5) when he collides with a familiar featherweight foe in Ricardo Lamas, who rebounded from his own loss to “Blessed” to capture two straight.
Aldo topped “The Bully” by way of unanimous decision at UFC 169.
Also getting their hands dirty in Winnipeg are welterweight prospects Mike Perry and Santiago Ponzinibbio. “Platinum” (11-1) is the winner of two straight — both by knockout -- while “Gente Boa” has captured five in a row.
Perry will undoubtedly be looking to crack the top 10 with a finish over the Brazilian.
UFC on FOX 26 will be topped by the welterweight slugfest pitting former welterweight champion “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler against ex-lightweight kingpin Rafael dos Anjos, with the winner moving on to challenge Tyron Woodley for the 170-pound strap.
