Back in 2015, T.J. Dillashaw had an ugly falling out with his longtime camp Team Alpha Male (TAM) after he decided to move down to Colorado to join Elevation Fight Team and to be closer to his striking coach, Duane Ludwig.
What ensued was an ugly war of words between “Viper” and his former training partners, including current UFC Bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt. Recently, Dillashaw opted to mix it up a little and do some training at The Treigning Lab in California, which Cody seemed to find amusing, likening him to a prostitute on a corner with all of his bouncing around
“(He has been) bouncing around from camps. He left Colorado. (Now) he’s out in California. You’re like a prostitute on the corner bouncing around from gyms,” Grabrandt said during a recent press conference (via MMA Junkie).
Naturally, Dillashaw responded by saying he’s only broadening his horizons, learning new things everywhere he goes.
While fighters cross-training is nothing new, it seems Cody isn’t about that life. Or maybe T.J.’s constant need to training at different gyms still doesn’t sit right with him due to their very public fallout.
Nevertheless, Dillashaw will have the chance to show off all of his new training and tricks when he faces off against Garbrandt in the co-main event of UFC 217 on Nov. 4, 2017 in New York City.
