Things are not looking good for a second Ronda Rousey comeback attempt.
The UFC superstar hasn't been heard from much since her quick 48 second TKO at the hands of current women's bantamweight champ Amanda Nunes last month. Since then, everyone has been left wondering if that was the last we'll ever see of Ronda in the Octagon. Dana White, a man who is definitely in a position to know more than we do on the subject, thinks that may have been a wrap for the "Rowdy" one.
"In the conversation I had with her, if I had to say right here right now?" White responded when asked about her future on the latest UFC Unfiltered podcast. "Again I don't like saying right here right now because it's up to her. But I would't say she fights again. I think she's probably done. She's going to ride off into the sunset and start living her life outside of fighting."
"She's so competitive that her career and record meant everything to her. And then once she lost, she started to say to herself, 'What the f**k am I doing? This is my whole life. This is it? I want to experience and start doing other things.' And I think that's what she started to do, and she's got a lot of money. She's never going to need money again."
I'm sure we'd all love to see Ronda Rousey fighting again, but at this point she's been throwing off so many signs that she's no longer into it that White's conclusion seems like a no brainer. In typical Rousey fashion, it will probably take her another three or four months before she bothers to tell us what's up herself, but I wouldn't be getting my hopes up for another UFC run from Rousey.
Onwards to new experiences in life ... like getting pepper sprayed in the face?
