Bellator 173: "McGeary vs. Fields" takes place Feb. 24, 2017, at SSE Arena in Belfast, northern Ireland, featuring a main event between former Light Heavyweight champion Liam McGeary -- in his first bout since losing the title to Phil Davis --against local BAMMA favorite Chris Fields.
To shore up the local appeal of the event, Bellator has announced two bouts featuring members of Conor McGregor's team at Straight Blast Gym. Leading the way will be "The Strabanimal" James Gallagher (5-0), fresh off a submission win in Dublin, looking to repeat that kind of performance against Kirill Medvedovsky (7-3). Medvedovsky is still hunting for his first win in Bellator after a technical knockout loss at Bellator 164 in Israel.
Joining them on the card is rising star Sinead "KO" Kavanagh (4-0), who looked impressive in her Bellator 169 debut in Dec. 2016. She's agreed to fight Iony Razafiarison (1-1, 1 NC) at a Catchweight of 140 pounds.
