Former lightweight and welterweight champion, B.J. Penn, makes his return to the Octagon this Sunday (Jan. 15, 2017), taking on Yair Rodriguez in the main event of the upcoming UFC Fight Night 103 event at Talking Stick Resort Arena in Phoenix, Arizona.

Penn was scheduled to fight Dennis Siver, then Cole Miller, at UFC 197 this past April, but the Hawaiian was suspended six months by United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) for an out-of-competition IV use.
He was later booked to tango against Ricardo Lamas at the UFC Fight Night 97 mixed martial arts (MMA) event on Oct. 15, 2016 inside SM Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines, before an injury forced "The Prodigy" out of the contest.
The event was eventually canceled.
It will be interesting to see which version of Penn — who hasn’t been seen since getting bombed by Frankie Edgar in summer 2014 — shows up this weekend in Phoenix.
