Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight contender Demian Maia was last seen fighting Carlos Condit at the UFC on FOX 21 mixed martial arts (MMA) event, where he easily disposed of "The Natural Born Killer" by way of first-round submission.
It's kinda what he does.
But he won't be good enough to pull that off against reigning welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, if and when they fight, according to comments "The Chosen One" made on Morning Wood with Deez Nuts (via Bloody Elbow).
"Let me tell you something, Maia, you're ass ain't getting on my back when we get ready to scrap," Woodley said. "You can write that shit all day, you ain't getting back there, bro."
Woodley, who also threatened to bite Maia to escape a grappling hold, has never been submitted in his pro career.
Maia (24-6) may not have the opportunity to prove him wrong, as fellow welterweight contender Stephen Thompson outranks him at 170 pounds and is expected to get the next crack at the division crown, barring a UFC 206 comeback from Georges St-Pierre.
