Video: Watch Roy Nelson kick referee John McCarthy after late stoppage at UFC Fight Night 95

There was a reason why Roy Nelson was the betting favorite heading into his heavyweight clash with Antonio Silva last night (Sat., Sept. 24, 2016) at UFC Fight Night 95 live on FOX Sports 1 from Ginasio Nilson Nelson arena in Brasilia, Brazil. The 40-year-old Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) veteran packs one of the best punches around and put it to use to knockout "Bigfoot" and earn the second-round finish.

But after he captured the memorable stoppage, Nelson ran over to referee John McCarthy and kicked him in the upper leg (shown above, courtesy of UFC on FOX). Nobody has ever done this before and it will probably provoke some sort of fine, but did Nelson do it out of an act of protest? After all, "Big Country" had to hit Silva more than once on the ground after he slumped him over with a right uppercut. The two are friends outside the cage, so maybe Nelson was calling for a late stoppage.

Either way, this is an interesting occurrence between two of the more outspoken figures in mixed martial arts (MMA) today. If they were ever to tangle inside of the cage, Nelson would certainly tried to shut the lights out again.
