It lasted longer than most expected. Cris Cyborg continued her dominant ways, storming her way through Lina Lansberg in UFC Fight Night 95's main event last night (Sept. 24, 2016) in Brasilia, Brazil, with a punishing technical knockout finish of "Elbow Princess" in the second round of their 140-pound Catchweight fight (watch highlights here).
After weathering an early storm, Lansberg did her best to fend off Cyborg's strikes by playing the clinch game. But, once the Brazilian saw some daylight, it was punches in bunches. Lansberg hung tough, though, taking Cyborg into the second round for the first time in five years.
But, the end was soon to come, as Cyborg unleashed never-ending and powerful strikes for which Lansberg simply had no answer. Once the fight hit the ground, it was all she wrote, as Cyborg uncorked some vicious-ground-and-pound that hurt and already bloodied up Lansberg.
Though she hung around for as long as she could, Lansberg was ultimately saved by the referee as he had no other choice but to put an end to the punishment. Props to Lansberg, but Cyborg proved just why she is one of the most feared fighters in all of the sport.
