Highlights! Watch Luan Chagas gift wrap Erick Silva's submission at UFC Fight Night 95

Once among the most promising Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Welterweight prospects, Erick Silva tonight (Sat., Sept. 24, 2016) was looking to steer out of a two-fight losing skid when he locked horns with Luan Chagas at UFC Fight Night 95 inside Nilson Nelson Gymnasium in Brasilia, Brazil.

Mission accomplished.

Silva -- who had not won a fight beyond the first round in six years -- survived an early knockdown to defeat Chagas via rear-naked choke in the third and final frame. His boxing looked sharp, pumping jabs that snapped back the head of Chagas, who was clearly spent after 13 minutes of back-and-forth competition. In fact, Chagas could barely keep his hands up, which provided Silva with the opportunity to pepper him with stiff shots down the stretch. And when Chagas finally had the energy to return fire, he got Silva on the run, but as he tried to chase him down he got lazy, diving for a takedown that Silva was able to escape easily.

Chagas was too slow to get back to his feet, so Silva merely stepped behind him as he was on his knees, slid his forearm under his chin and squeezed him into submission. Chagas served up the finish on a silver platter and Silva wisely took complete advantage.

It doesn't get any easier that that.
