Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will send a pair of heavyweight titans into battle when Roy Nelson tangles with Antonio Silva at the upcoming UFC Fight Night 95 mixed martial arts (MMA) event on FOX Sports 1, set for Sept. 24, 2016 inside Ginasio Nislon Nelson in Brasilia, Brazil.
And just in case you thought “Bigfoot” was washed up...
“The challenges he offers are everything,” Nelson told UFC Tonight. “He’s a complete mixed martial artist. He’s beat the best. He’s knocked out Overeem. He beat Fedor. It’s heavyweight. You can win some and lose some, but you’ve got to watch.”
Just ask Travis Browne, among others.
That said, Silva (19-9-1) has just one victory since 2013, which came at the expense of Soa Palelei in Australia. "Bigfoot," who turned 37 a few days back, has been knocked out in five consecutive losses, raising serious questions about his longevity in combat sports.
Is the Brazilian still a dangerous contender, as Nelson suggests? We’ll find out this weekend.
