Charles Bennett vs. Wanderlei Silva ... part two?
For those newer mixed martial arts (MMA) fans who may not be familiar with the story, "Krazy Horse" said he knocked out "The Axe Murderer" under the PRIDE banner during a locker room melee back in the heyday of Japanese MMA.
The Brazlian, as you might expect, insists that story is hogwash.
Well, it seems both combat sports veterans almost had a chance to prove who was the fast fibber when they came face-to-face inside a Japanese hotel on Thursday (Sept. 22, 2016), just a few days ahead of the RIZIN World Grand Prix. And interestingly enough, Mirko Cro Cop -- competing this weekend -- came into the lobby just moments after this little skirmish. A few seconds earlier and we could have had the grand prix start right then and there.
Silva earned a bye for this round of contests, but is expected to compete for RIZIN later this year.
