Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will ask light heavyweight strikers Alexander Gustafsson and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira to hook ‘em up in the UFC Fight Night 100 main event, scheduled for Ginásio do Ibirapuera in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on Nov. 19, 2016.
That’s according to a report from Combate.
Gustafsson (17-4) snapped a two-fight losing streak by outpointing Jan Blachowicz in the UFC Fight Night 93 co-main event earlier this month in Germany. “The Mauler” is currently ranked No. 4 at 205 pounds.
That’s seven spots above Nogueira (22-7), who like the towering Swede, recently rebounded from consecutive losses, scoring a technical knockout win over Patrick Cummins at UFC 198 last May.
This will mark the third time UFC has tried to put this fight together.
No other bouts have been announced for UFC Fight Night 100; however, you can expect that to change in the coming weeks, if not days.
Stay tuned.
