UFC 205: Tyrone Woodley opens as underdog in first-ever title defense against Stephen Thompson in New York

I get the feeling Tyron Woodley is starting to feel bit like Rodney Dangerfield.

That's because the oddsmakers over at MMAOddsBreaker.com (via MMA Junkie), aren't giving the newly-crowned Welterweight champion any respect when it comes to his first-ever title defense, pegging him as a +120 underdog against Stephen Thompson, who is a the -150 favorite.

"The Chosen One" captured the 170-pound strap with a vicious first round knockout of Robbie Lawler at UFC 201 earlier this year (see it). Soon thereafter, Woodley caught a lot of flack from the MMA community after he dismissed "Wonderboy," preferring to lobby for "big-money" fights against Nick Diaz or Georges St-Pierre.

But, UFC president Dana White put ice on those requests, declaring this his first defense would be against the Karate expert.

The duo have been booked to tango at the much-anticipated UFC 205 pay-per-view (PPV) event, which will be the promotion's first event at Madison Square Garden in New York.

But, you can expect these odds to change as fight night draws nearer. Whether or not they turn in Woodley's favor, remains to be seen.
