Daniel Cormier promises to stand-and-bang in rematch with Anthony Johnson, vows to beat 'Rumble' by knockout

Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

Hey, remember when Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier was tweeting under the influence, then had to circle back a few days later and explain his outrageous remarks?

Somebody might want to check that pill bottle, because it sounds like "DC" is at it again.

Yes, that is Cormier promising Anthony Johnson that he will stand and bang in their championship rematch later this year. And yes, that is the same Anthony Johnson who took so many heads at 205 pounds, even King Richard III was like "Dude, slow down."

Cormier won their first contest by way of submission.

With interim champion (?) Jon Jones still sidelined (because of this), it's only a matter of time before "DC" and "Rumble" hook 'em up for the light heavyweight title. The former wants to book it for UFC 207 on Dec. 30, while the latter is pining for a spot on the UFC 205 fight card in New York.

Anyone think Cormier stays true to his word?
