Top-ranked Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight Alistair Overeem will be spending some time on the bench following last weekend's knockout loss to Stipe Miocic (replay), which took place in the UFC 203 pay-per-view (PPV) main event in Cleveland.

Ohio Athletic Commission saw to that.

Also receiving indefinite suspensions in "The Buckeye State" were Travis Browne and Jimmie Rivera. "Hapa" watched his finger get destroyed by Fabricio Werdum -- who somehow got brain poked without incident (see above) -- while "El Terror" had his face treated like a bowling ball during his Urijah Faber fight.

That's not all.

Here are the complete UFC 203 injuries and medical suspensions (via MMA Fighting):

Alistair Overeem: Suspended indefinitely, requires neurological cat scan within five days, MRI after 5 days; minimum suspension of 60 days
Travis Browne: Suspended indefinitely, requires orthopedic clearance of right index finger
Jimmie Rivera: Suspended indefinitely, requires ophthalmology clearance
Brad Tavares: Suspended indefinitely, requires medical clearance on lower back
Sean Spencer: Suspended indefinitely, requires medical clearance on left hand
Stipe Miocic: Suspended 45 days, 15 days no contact
CM Punk: Suspended 45 days, 30 days no contact
Jessica Eye: Suspended 45 days, 30 days no contact
Michael McBride: Suspended 45 days, 30 days no contact
Jason Gonzalez: Suspended 45 days, 30 days no contact
Jessica Andrade: Suspended 30 days contact
Bethe Correia: Suspended 30 days no contact

It should be noted, for those of you who pay attention to this stuff, that Overeem has been stopped 13 times in his combat sports career (10 MMA, three kickboxing).

Fighters often return to action much quicker once doctors give them the green light. The lengthy suspensions are just a precaution in most cases. In addition, not all injuries are recorded during the post-fight examination and often times surface in follow-up tests.
