Outside of throwing a punch that sent a gust of wind into the front row, C.M. Punk did little in his mixed martial arts (MMA) debut. The former World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) champion lasted just over two minutes with Mickey Gall last night (Sat., Sept. 10, 2016) at UFC 203 live on pay-per-view (PPV) from Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. Gall, 24, submitted Punk via rear-naked choke after battering the 37-year-old with powerful ground-and-pound.
After suffering a crushing defeat in his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) debut, Punk remained gracious inside of the Octagon. Despite pouring nearly two years of his life into training for this fight, he insisted that he'll come back to fight again. Check out Punk's post-fight interview with Joe Rogan above courtesy of UFC.
Nobody knows for sure if Punk will ever get back into the Octagon, so his two-minute debut may be the last image MMA fans have of the professional wrestler.
