Former World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) superstar, CM Punk, made his long-awaited professional mixed martial arts (MMA) debut tonight (Sat., Sept 10. 2016) against Mickey Gall at UFC 203, which took place inside Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.

Gall was first to walk to the Octagon to the tune of Toni Basil's, "Hey Mickey," which company president Dana White initially vetoed, but apparently caved to the pressure of Internet outrage. Punk, of course, walked out to Living Colour's, "Cult Of Personality," which has long been associated with his performances. Punk got the biggest pop from the crowd and, before long, the fight was on.

Gall came out aggressive immediately, storming out of the cage and scoring a takedown along the cage. Gall rained down furious punches at the bottom of the cage as Punk scrambled to defend himself. Gall was able to secure full mount, forcing Punk to roll to his belly. Gall took his back and angled for a rear-naked choke, but Punk was able to defend. Gall, though, was still wrapped around his back, boxing his ears furiously. He slipped in another choke, and Punk was able to squeak out of it, but Gall was relentless, bashing him from behind and going for another rear-naked choke, which this time Punk was unable to defend.
