Chael Sonnen on first USADA test results: 'I'm basically clean'

Esther Lin/MMA Fighting

Chael Sonnen recently stated he would consider a mixed martial arts (MMA) comeback depending on the outcome of his drug tests performed by United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA).

And according to a recent Tweet by "The American Gangster," it seems his first test came back negative after a fan asked him how the results came back.

Chael gonna' Chael.

The former two-time Middleweight title contender hasn't competed in MMA since losing to Rashad Evans via technical knockout at UFC 167 back in 2013.

Sonnen retired in 2014 after failing an out-of-competition drug test prior to his bout against Vitor Belfort at UFC 175. He was still suspended by Nevada State Athletic Comission (NSAC) for two years for his infraction.

Even though the suspension is finally over, he has no immediate plans to return to mixed martial arts (MMA), he just wants the option to be able to do so if he his heart desires.

And apparently, the first step has been completed.
