"Frankie Edgar, November 14th, Madison Square Garden, let's go!" Bermudez shouted during his post-fight interview with Jon Anik.
Bermudez, 29, dominated with takedowns throughout and did the majority of his damage in the first round after cutting Jason's forehead open with some vicious elbows.
After a few early exchanges, Bermudez landed a takedown along the fence. Jason began throwing up submission attempts, but Bermudez postured up and avoided any danger. Bermudez began raining down elbows and sliced Jason's forehead open and the Brazilian began to bleed profusely. Bermudez remained on top in dominant position for the remainder of the first round.
Bermudez took Jason to the canvas early in the second round and began to land big punches while controlling him along the fence. Jason made it back up to his feet and blood continued to trickle out of the cut on his forehead. Bermudez continued to utilize his wrestling and landed another takedown. Jason made it back to his feet once more, but It didn't matter, as Bermudez landed yet another takedown. Jason got back to his feet before the round ended, but Bermudez took him down again in the final seconds, this time picking him up and slamming him down.
Bermudez made a mistake in the final frame with little less than two minutes to go and it nearly cost him the fight. After going in on another takedown, he had his back taken by Jason and had to fight off a rear-naked choke attempt. Bermudez eventually reversed position to avoid a heartbreaking loss and finished the bout in top position.
It was a dominant win for Bermudez, who looked outstanding. He got in trouble late, but avoided what would've been a horrible loss. He has now won two fights in a row and improves to 9-3 in UFC. Meanwhile, it was a tough loss for Jason, who got dominated by Bermudez's wrestling. He falls to 4-3 1NC in defeat
