Bangfest!
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will send a pair of heavyweight titans into battle when Roy Nelson battles Antonio Silva at the upcoming UFC Fight Night 95 mixed martial arts (MMA) event on FOX Sports 1, now official for Sept. 24, 2016 inside Ginasio Nislon Nelson in Brasilia, Brazil.
It should be noted these two are a combined 3-11-1 over the past three years.
Nelson (21-13) is coming off a split-decision loss to fellow 265-pound power puncher Derrick Lewis at UFC Fight Night 90. Prior to that, the 40-year-old "Big Country" outpointed Jared Rosholt at UFC Fight Night 82 to snap a dreadful three-fight losing streak.
Silva (19-9-1) has just one victory since 2013, which came at the expense of Soa Palelei in Australia. "Bigfoot," who turns 37 in just a few weeks, has been knocked out in five consecutive losses, raising serious questions about his longevity in combat sports.
UFC Fight Night 95 will be headlined by the 140-pound catchweight fight pitting Cris "Cyborg" Justino opposite Octagon newcomer Lina "Elbow Princess" Lansberg. Elsewhere on the card, Renan Barao returns to action to throw hands with Philippe Nover.
