Shinya Aoki and Angela Lee to compete at ONE Grappling Challenge in Macau

Two of the biggest stars in Asian mixed martial arts (MMA) will be in action at the ONE Grappling Challenge in Macau next Saturday (Aug. 13, 2016) with Angela Lee and Shinya Aoki both confirmed to enter the competition.

Lee currently holds a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and Aoki is a black belt. They are both better known for their exploits inside the ONE Championship cage where the Japanese fighter is the current lightweight champion and the Singaporean Korean holds the atomweight belt.

In total there will be $50,000 USD worth of prize money on the table at the tournament which takes place on the same day as the ONE: "Heroes of the World" card. There are currently three Evolve MMA fighters confirmed for the event with multiple time BJJ world champion Michelle Nicolin set to compete.

The No Gi competition will use IBJJF rules and is set to run from 10am to 4pm at the Venetian Macau, the same venue that hosts ONE: "Heroes of the World." Competitors are able to enter either the beginners, advanced, or elite bracket of the tournament depending on their rank and experience.

Each tournament will have only two weight classes with men able to choose between <75 kg and >75.1 kg and women able to opt for either <65kg or >65.1 kg. For the $125 registration fee each competitor will receive a free night stay at either the Venetian itself or the neighboring Holiday Inn and six tickets to ONE: "Heroes of the World."
