Bellator 163: "Chandler vs. Henderson" is now official for Nov. 19, 2016 at SAP Center in San Jose, Calif., and will be headlined by two of the world's top lightweights. Two-time Bellator champion Michael Chandler meets former WEC and UFC champion Benson Henderson in the main event.
The first half of this equation was filled out when Chandler recaptured the lightweight title in St. Louis back in June, taking a belt vacated due to the departure of "Ill" Will Brooks.
Chandler did it with an amazing one punch knockout of Patricky Freire.
The other half of this equation was completed at Bellator 160 in Anaheim just last week, a show where Henderson claimed No. 1 contender status in a fight with a bizarre injury TKO finish.
As "Smooth" likes to say, he'll take a win any way he can get it.
The event is still taking shape at this early date, but a key welterweight ranking bout will also pit the undefeated Michael "Venom" Page against Fernando Gonzalez, winner of five straight MMA fights.
The card as it stands right now is below.
Bellator 163 "Chandler vs. Henderson" (Spike TV):
Lightweight: Michael Chandler (15-3) vs. Benson Henderson (24-6)
Welterweight: Michael Page (11-0) vs. Fernando Gonzalez (25-13)
