Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight and part-time welterweight Nate Diaz, fresh off his majority decision loss to Conor McGregor at the UFC 202 pay-per-view (PPV) event earlier this month in Las Vegas, Nevada (video), was trying to go about his business after the fight was all said and done.
Then came the galloping hordes of Conor McGregor fans.
Diaz was heckled by the "Notorious" nut huggers, but they were strangely silent once the quick-tempered Stocktonite -- fresh off his 25-minute war with McGregor -- turned around to fight them. Not sure why anyone was surprised, because that's what the Diaz brothers do.
Fortunately, cooler heads prevailed.
While McGregor returns to the featherweight division, on orders from promotion president Dana White, Diaz will head back home and wait for his next assignment. Hopefully it's a "Notorious" rubber match, or mixed martial arts (MMA) fans could be waiting a long, long time.
