The action was plentiful tonight (Sat., Aug. 27, 2016) at UFC on FOX 21 live from Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, as Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Welterweight title threats Demian Maia and Carlos Condit locked horns in a match up between a submission expert and volume striker. It didn't take long for Maia to secure a takedown on "Natural Born Killer" and work his way toward Condit's back. After latching his hooks and wrapping his arms around Condit's neck, Maia proceeded to tap the former interim UFC Welterweight champion for the first time since 2006. It was quite the technical masterpiece by Maia, who utilized practically zero strikes to earn the win.

At this point, considering how hungry Condit was coming off his loss to Robbie Lawler at UFC 195, Maia has to be considered for a title shot in 2017. He has done everything the promotion has asked him to do and continues to prove that one mastered technique can rule over a hodgepodge of talent.
