Despite losing his Welterweight rematch with Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Featherweight king Conor McGregor earlier this month at UFC 202, Lightweight mainstay Nate Diaz remains as popular as ever. After all, the Stockton brawler choked out McGregor back at UFC 196 to earn his most high-profile victory inside of the Octagon.
But before Diaz was smacking the grin off of the Irishman's face he was fending off some of the best fighters the promotion had to offer. While Diaz's efforts weren't as publicized and spotlighted as they are now, hardcore mixed martial arts (MMA) fans have always valued his time inside of the cage, as well as outside of it.
In order to appreciate the best that Diaz has had to offer, Mike Straka of MMA Noise takes a few minutes to breakdown the top 10 best moments of the 31-year-old's career (shown above). The highlight video features Diaz's popular finishes over McGregor, Melvin Guillard, and Kurt Pellegrino, as well as his take on CM Punk and the Stockton slap.
With McGregor no longer in his sights, Diaz will be forced to forge new success at the expense of another elite opponent heading into 2017.
