After losing three in a row, including a five-round title beatdown opposite Rafael dos Anjos, former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Lightweight king Anthony Pettis will make a move to 145 pounds in search of new light. With elite striking skills and the frame to make a successful cut down to Featherweight, "Showtime" may find immediate success in his new home.
Pettis will be tasked with disposing of Brazilian submission artist Charles Oliveira tomorrow (Sat., Aug. 27, 2016) at UFC on FOX 21 live from Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The co-main event tilt will be Pettis' first fight on FOX since finishing Donald Cerrone with a first-round liver kick back in 2013.
But before the action ensues, a slimmed Pettis took to the scales earlier today (Fri., Aug. 26, 2016) for UFC on FOX 21's weigh ins. The 29-year-old knockout artist has looked sucked in all week, but now fight fans can really size Pettis up with a good old fashioned side-by-side pic (shown above) comparing his 145-pound body to his former Lightweight self.
We will see if Pettis can bulk back up before his matchup with "Do Bronx" and use his size to his advantage at UFC on FOX 21.
