Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight phenom Gunnar Nelson will try to get back into the 170-pound title chase when he takes on perennial division contender Dong Hyun Kim at the upcoming UFC Fight Night 99 mixed martial arts (MMA) event on Nov. 19, 2016, in Belfast, Ireland.
MMA Fighting brought word of their headlining act on Thursday.
Nelson (15-2-1) won 13 fights en route to becoming one of the division's most promising prospects; however, "Gunni" was tripped up by Rick Story in late 2014 and has since alternated wins and losses, most recently submitting Albert Tumenov at UFC Fight Night 87 back in May.
Kim (21-3-1, 1 NC), meanwhile, has quietly put together a two-fight winning streak -- both finishes -- after getting iced by Tyron Woodley in Aug. 2014. "Stun Gun" won six of his last seven and could be on the verge of another title run with a big win overseas.
No other fights have been announced for the promotion's return to Northern Ireland, which is likely to air on UFC Fight Pass, but you can expect that to change in the coming weeks, if not days.
Stay tuned.
