I'm not sure if former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion Anthony Pettis is preparing for a cut to 145 pounds, or the lead role in the sequel to The Machinist. Either way, can somebody please get "Showtime" a cheeseburger?
I can't help but be reminded of this.
Pettis will make his long-teased featherweight debut against jiu-jitsu wunderkind Charles Oliveira at the upcoming UFC on FOX 21 mixed martial arts (MMA) event, scheduled for this Sat. night (Aug. 27, 2016) in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
See a "before" video here.
Pettis (18-5) was riding high as lightweight kingpin thanks to a five-fight winning streak, one that included four consecutive finishes. Then came a lopsided loss to Rafael dos Anjos at UFC 185, followed by another two goose eggs opposite Eddie Alvarez and Edson Barboza.
Now he's looking to get his career back on track (by any means necessary). Keep in mind
"Mealtime" "Showtime" still has more weight to lose before getting on the scale.
