Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) bantamweight Ning Guangyou, who blasted his way into the world's largest mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion by way of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF): "China," will no longer be a part of the upcoming UFC on FOX 21 fight card, scheduled for this Sat. night (Aug. 27, 2016) inside Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
Visa issues are the culprit, according to the promotion.
As a result, his fight against Marlon Vera -- also a TUF veteran -- will likely be moved to a later date. This is the second time this year Guangyou has made headlines for his bad luck outside the cage, recently running afoul of United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) over some tainted meat.
More on that mess here.
UFC on FOX 21 will proceed with 11 bouts, three of which air on the UFC Fight Pass digital network, down from the original four now that Guangyou vs. Vera has been scrapped. To see who else is fighting this weekend in "Gastown" click here.
