Nate Diaz has always been one to walk and talk to his own tune. That was highly-evident after last night’s epic UFC 202 fight with Conor McGregor in Las Vegas, Nevada (highlights), as Nate decided to vape some CBD oil while fielding questions from reporters.
"This is TURE, the TRUE company. It’s CBD. It helps with healing process and inflammation and stuff like that. So you want to get these for before, after the fight, training, It will make your life a better place," said Diaz. "It's CBD oil, if you don't know what that is," he admitted in the video above courtesy of MMA Weekly.
CBD, or Cannabidol, is one of the ingredients found in marijuana and is considered to be a dietary supplement by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). You can legally purchase CBD oil in any state without a prescription.
That said, it remains to be seen if United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) or the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) will have anything to say about Nate’s extracurricular activities.
Should they find that his love for CBD and vape pens is a big no-no, Diaz could be riding the pine for quite some time. Something his older brother Nick can attest to, as he recently served his 18-month suspension for failing a drug test after he tested positive for marijuana for his fight against Anderson Silva at UFC 183.
That said, Nate didn’t sound like he was in a hurry to get back inside the Octagon anytime soon, anyway, as he won’t step back into the cage unless it’s for a trilogy fight against Conor.
Plus, this big payday might hold him over until he gets back to work.
