Conor McGregor is still losing his mind. "Notorious" and Nate Diaz appeared at the traditional UFC 202 weigh-in event tonight (Fri., Aug. 20, 2016) inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, several hours after hitting their marks. The reason? To give fight fans in town a free look at the fighters, as well as square them up face-to-face to stir some drama.
As if this rivalry needed more spice.
But, McGregor and Diaz delivered in spades once it was time to mean mug. Company president Dana White -- along with four uniformed police officers, however, had to intervene almost immediately. The tension was thick, though, which is probably not the ideal time for announcer Joe Rogan to stick microphones in their hands.
"He should have killed me when he had the chance because now I’m going to kill [Nate Diaz] and [his] whole fucking team — you and their bitch kids," McGregor shouted, although most of his tirade was censored on FOX Sports 1.
Certainly an unfortunate choice of words, especially if it is related to the young girl who was hit with a bottle earlier this week at the press conference. The same press conference that could trigger a potential lawsuit. Hopefully, something was just lost in translation and he meant to say "cockroaches."
