Conor McGregor is in a tough spot entering his Welterweight rematch with Nate Diaz tomorrow (Sat., Aug. 20, 2016) at UFC 202 live on pay-per-view (PPV) from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Featherweight king will either avenge his submission loss to Diaz from UFC 196 or lose and retreat back to the 145-pound division.
In the past, McGregor has been a master at getting under an opponent's skin. He did some of this in the short 10-day period leading up to his initial bout with Diaz back in March, but has had exceedingly more opportunities to impose his mental fortitude this time around -- just maybe not nearly enough as he would like this week. Still, the 28-year-old has been somewhat quiet leading up to UFC 202. It's a direct result of McGregor going into hibernation, training around the clock with a plethora of partners and setting everything else but the fight aside.
To reset our minds, eyes and ears, we take a look back McGregor's pre-fight antics in the video above (courtesy of UFC), which is part of UFC 202's "The Takedown." The video reminds us of the Irishman's trash talking, mental warfare, staredowns, confident predictions and overall gift of combat. We will find out tomorrow night on PPV whether McGregor can once again cash the check his mouth is writing.
