The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) women's Strawweight division is already a shallow weight class. Having two of its more promising up-and-coming contenders is truly going to hurt the 115-pound class entering 2017.
After learning that former TUF standout Aisling Daly would be unable to compete at UFC Fight Night 93 on Sept. 3 live from Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Germany, Michelle Waterson was hoping the promotion would find her a new opponent. Unfortunately, it now appears that Waterson herself may be unable to make the trip to Germany, per this recent Instagram post showing a broken finger x-ray:
FU%* ........... so this happened on Thursday morning. The fact that I'm so close to the fight and this shit happened just really pisses me off. I know my will is being tested, and I will push forward. My fight has definitely not been fought in the cage this last year, trust me when I say I will be better for it all....... but Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh. That is all
If "Karate Hottie" is in fact out of UFC Fight Night 93 it will be a huge blow to her already stagnant UFC stock. After making an explosive entrance into the promotion with a third-round submission of Angela Magana at TUF 21 Finale, the former Invicta FC Atomweight champion has yet to step foot back inside of the Octagon. That victory was over one year ago.
