UFC 203: Jason Gonzalez vs Drew Dober fight set with Erik Koch injured

Esther Lin/MMA Fighting

The hits keep coming.

Erik Koch has been forced out of his Lightweight fight against Drew Dober, which was set to go down on Sept. 10, 2016, in Cleveland, Ohio, because of an unfortunate injury suffered in training, according to UFC.com.

Jason Gonzalez -- who holds a 10-2 record to go a long with a six-fight win streak -- will replace Koch inside Quickens Loan Arena in fight night. Even though this mark Gonzalez's first official Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) bout, he was a part of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 22 as a member of "Team Faber." He went on to lose to Abner Lloveras of Team McGregor after winning his first fight to make it into the house.

This is the second time a fight between Dober and Koch has fallen apart -- the pair were set to bang it out at UFC 195 earlier this year before Koch was sidelined with an injury. Earlier today, it was announced that Ben Rothwell was also forced out of the pay-per-view (PPV) event because of a bum knee, which means the promotion will now have to find a suitable foe to face Fabricio Werdum in the co-main event of the evening.

Where you at, Cain?

UFC 203 is set to be headlined by a Heavyweight title fight, as Stipe Miocic defends his belt against Alistair Overeem. For more on UFC 203 click here.
