Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) president Dana White is tying a ribbon on another successful pay-per-view (PPV) event, as UFC 201 took place last night (Sat., July 30, 2016) from the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
Headlining the event was a memorable Welterweight title fight which saw division champion, Robbie Lawler, cough up his strap to Tyron Woodley after "The Chosen One" knocked out "Ruthless" in the opening frame (see it again here).
So what did White think of Woodley's performance? See for yourself:
"That's exactly how everyone thought it would go. If Tyron Woodley could catch him in the first round with his fast, explosive punches he would probably catch Robbie and knock him out. But if Robbie took him in the second and third round, Woodley tends to gas and Robbie would dominate. That's exactly how I saw it going. And that's the way it went."
As for Karolina Kowalkiewicz -- who outgunned Rose Namajunas in the co-main event -- while White didn't guranteeher the shot at the Strawweight strap against Joanna Jedrzejczyk -- he said it's the fight that makes most sense and he wants to book it in Poland.
Plus, the head honcho says fight fans can expect plenty of more "crazy" cards to finish off 2016.
