Head kick knockout! Watch Nikita Krylov defuse Ed Herman at UFC 201 tonight

New, comments

UFC 201 unfolded tonight (Sat., July 30, 2016) live on pay-per-view (PPV) from Philips Arena in Atlanta, Ga., featuring the highly-anticipated Welterweight clash between current champion Robbie Lawler and teammate Tyron Woodley. But before the headlining bout went down, UFC 201's "Prelims" undercard offered a plethora of entertaining action.

In the marquee "Prelims" undercard bout, mixed martial arts (MMA) veteran Ed Herman attempted to thwart former Heavyweight prospect Nikita Krylov and his four-fight Light Heavyweight win streak. After escaping a first round from hell, Herman ran into even more trouble in the second as Krylov blasted him with punches on the feet before launching a devastating head kick that sent "Short Fuse" into another dimension.

The scintillating finish can be seen above (courtesy of UFC on FOX).

At just 24 years of age, Krylov looks like an absolute terror at 205 pounds. He has finished five fights in a row and looks better every time he steps inside of the Octagon. A high-profile top 10 opponent is the only move that makes sense for the Ukrainian heading into 2017.

MMAmania.com will deliver LIVE round-by-round, blow-by-blow coverage of the entire UFC 201 fight card below, starting with the Fight Pass "Prelims" matches online, which are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. ET, and then the remaining undercard balance on FOX Sports 2 at 8 p.m. ET, before the PPV main card start time at 10 p.m. ET.
