Hitman! Ricky Hatton congratulates Michael Bisping for becoming UFC's first-ever British champion

Jake Roth-USA TODAY Sports
Michael Bisping is still floating on cloud nine -- or suffering from a serious hangover -- after knocking out Luke Rockhold at this past weekend's (Sat., June 4, 2016) UFC 199 pay-per-view (PPV) event in Los Angeles, Calif., to become the undisputed Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight champion.

Not only was the win big for "The Count," it was huge for the British community, as the country can now boast it has a UFC world champion. And former world boxing titleholder Ricky Hatton, for one, is thrilled for his fellow countryman.

Britain had countless world champions in various combats sports, including the aforementioned and now-retired Hatton as well as Liam McGeary, who is the current Bellator MMA light heavyweight champion. But, up until Saturday night's upset win from Bisping, there had yet to be a British UFC titleholder.
