Bellator 157: "Dynamite 2" at Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Mo., took place on June 24, 2016, featuring former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light Heavyweight Champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson going against judo gold medalist Satoshi Ishii.
The main event proved to be something of a draw for Spike TV, attracting 1.04 million viewers and peaking at 1.14 million -- it gained 100,000 viewers during the fight. Jackson won via split decision, but the remainder of "Dynamite 2" wasn't as big of a win as the promotion hoped. The words "lower than originally anticipated" ring eerily true when you look back at the first "Dynamite" card from San Jose.
"Dynamite 1" -- a mixed martial arts (MMA) and kickboxing hybrid show -- averaged 800,000 viewers, while the most recent "Dynamite 2" card averaged 675,000 viewers over three hours. Viewership fell off a cliff for the Bellator Kickboxing "St. Louis" card afterward with an average of 439,000 viewers.
The only bout on the post-"Dynamite 2" card that drew interest was the Joe Schilling vs. Hisaki Kato rematch, which averaged 624,000 viewers and peaked at 642,000.
