UFC 199: Uriah Faber won't date Paige VanZant because it violates the bro code

Outside of fighting for countless world titles throughout his mixed martial arts (MMA) career, Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Bantamweight contender Urijah Faber is known for starting Team Alpha Male out in California.

Despite recent quarrels between former teammates, Faber's effort to produce one of the very best camps in MMA led to him taking on notable talents such as former UFC champion T.J. Dillashaw, Joseph Benavidez, Chad Mendes, and rising Strawweight prospect Paige VanZant.

With a recent stint on Dancing With The Stars aiding her rise in popularity within the past few months, VanZant may in fact be the most talked about fighter currently under Team Alpha Male rule. And even though the 22-year-old possesses beauty both inside and out of the Octagon, Faber sees no scenario in which he would date the young superstar.

"Paige [VanZant] is a very interesting character, she's a teammate, she's not someone I'm going to be dating," said Faber in a recent interview with TMZ Sports. "She has dated one of my teammates here, Cody Garbrandt, in the past. Her and I have a different relationship man. I would definitely say we're in the friend zone and teammates zone."

When pressed for a little more information, Faber eluded to the fact that he's not looking to "break the bro code." In this case, that bro is Garbrandt, who notoriously dated "12 Gauge" until a breakup late last year.

As someone who is on the cusp of challenging for UFC gold for a fourth time when he takes on nemesis Dominick Cruz at UFC 199 on June 4, Faber probably has zero time to mix it up romantically with one of his more polarizing partners in crime.

UFC 199 will be headlined by a Middleweight title fight between champion Luke Rockhold and fill-in contender Michael Bisping.
