Homicide detectives for Edmonton police have made a significant discovery in their investigation into the death of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) veteran Ryan Jimmo, 34, who was killed earlier this week following a fatal hit-and-run.

Fighting out of Halifax, "Big Deal" (19-5) was last seen competing under the ZUFFA banner in May 2015, parting ways with the world's largest mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion -- which released a statement on Monday -- in the wake of his unanimous decision loss to Francimar Barroso.

The autopsy confirmed Jimmo died as a result of blunt force trauma.
