Reigning Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos will make his return to the Octagon to defend his 155-pound title against former Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez in the main event of UFC Fight Night 90, locked and loaded for Thurs., July 7, 2016 inside MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, streaming exclusively on UFC Fight Pass.
The pair got together on Tuesday to discuss their showdown by way of media conference call, helpfully embedded in the video player above.
Dos Anjos (25-7) has not lost since getting outwrestled by Khabib Nurmagomedov in April 2014, but made up for lost ground with a torrid six-fight winning streak that includes three knockout finishes. Alvarez (27-4), meanwhile, shook off a UFC debut loss to Donald Cerrone to win two straight over Gilbert Melendez and Anthony Pettis.
