Top Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight contender Neil Magny will return to the Octagon to face venerable 170-pound stalwart Dong Hyun Kim at the upcoming UFC 202 pay-per-view (PPV) event locked and loaded for the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Sat., Aug. 20, 2016.
UFC brought word of the pairing on Tuesday night.
Magny (18-4) is fresh off his Oscar-winning snuff film “Hector Lombard Must Die,” directed by referee Steve Perceval, at the UFC Fight Night 85 event back in March. That marks 10 wins in 11 fights dating back to late 2013.
Not sure what a victory here does for his upward trajectory.
Kim (21-2-1, 1 NC) is currently ranked three spots below Magny at No. 9 in the official rankings (see them), and despite winning two straight — as well as six of his last seven — is still trying to erase the memory of his technical knockout loss to Tyron Woodley in summer 2014.
UFC 202 will be headlined by the welterweight rematch between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz, while Anthony Johnson and Glover Teixeira hook ‘em up in the light heavyweight co-main event.
