The world's leading kickboxing promotion announced several changes to the upcoming GLORY 31 Superfight Series card, which takes place on June 25, 2016 at RAI Amsterdam in Amsterdam, Holland.
With Mosab Amrani out with an injury, GLORY has signed muay thai legend "Saenchai" (315-43-2) to fill in and take on 22-year-old French prospect Eddie Nait-Slimmani (62-1) in a featherweight contest that will serve as the co-headlining bout.
Saenchai, 35, has won several Lumpinee Stadium titles in Thailand, across several different weight classes. His signing is a huge addition to the GLORY featherweight division.
"Saenchai [PKSaenchaiMuayThaiGym] is not only one of the best muay thai fighters in the world right now, but one of the very best ever," said GLORY Head of Talent Operations Cor Hemmers. "With [Mosab] Amrani falling off the Amsterdam card, this was the first chance to get our new signing in front of the fans. We came together and now the stage is set for June 25."
In addition to that news, the GLORY 31 Superfight Series light heavyweight headliner between Zack Mwekassa (14-3) and Mourad Bouzidi (79-22-2) has been elevated to an interim title fight due to current champion, Artem Vahkitov being laid up with an injury. The winner of the bout between Mwekassa and Bouzidi will then face Vakhitov to unify the titles when the Russian champion returns to action.
