Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will send longtime veteran Jorge Masvidal into battle against Siyar Bahadurzada at the upcoming UFC 201 pay-per-view (PPV) mixed martial arts (MMA) event on July 30, 2016, inside Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
"Gamebred" replaces the injured Claudio Silva.
Despite his levels of talent and experience, Masvidal (29-11) has struggled to find the win column in recent outings, putting together a ho-hum 1-3 record since late 2014. He's currently riding back-to-back decision losses to Ben Henderson and Lorenz Larkin.
Bahadurzada (22-6-1) had his own problems in 2013, coughing up consecutive decision losses to Dong Hyun Kim and John Howard. "The Great" took a few years off and came roaring back with a submission win over Brandon Thatch last April.
Who ya' got?
UFC 201 will be headlined by the welterweight title fight pitting current 170-pound kingpin Robbie Lawler against top division contender Tyron Woodley. In the UFC 201 co-main event, Demetrious Johnson defends his flyweight strap against 125-pound stalwart Wilson Reis.
